Job Description:
Responsibilities:

  • Perform general gardening tasks such as planting, weeding, pruning, watering, and fertilizing.
  • Maintain the health and appearance of plants, flowers, shrubs, and trees.
  • Ensure gardens are kept tidy and free of debris.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of garden layouts and designs.
  • Monitor plant health and identify potential issues such as pests or diseases.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to achieve gardening goals and projects.
  • Assist with seasonal garden tasks such as mulching, leaf removal, and snow clearance.
  • Keep records of gardening activities and plant health.
    Follow safety procedures and guidelines.


Requirements:

  1. Previous experience in gardening or horticulture.
  2. Knowledge of plants, gardening techniques, and plant care and plant schedules.
  3. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Physical ability to perform gardening tasks, including lifting and bending.
  6. Good communication skills.
  7. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
  8. Flexibility to work different hours depending on the season and weather conditions.


Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with organic gardening practices.
  2. Familiarity with gardening in North Texas.
  3. Must be able to pre-plan, budget and coordinate gardening plans with the Board, volunteers and/or administrators.
  4. Must be able to manage and engage large groups.
